Episode 20: Ted Lasso

Like a lot of other people, I love the show, Ted Lasso. If you haven’t already, check it out, you won’t be sorry. It’s funny and heartwarming and I don’t think I’ve seen a show that makes me feel so many things so frequently, much less a comedy! Watching the show, I can’t help but want to be more like Ted Lasso. Here are a few Ted Lassian qualities I hope to develop more of:

He wants to make everyone around him better. Ted is a coach, coaches make their players better. But Ted doesn’t stop there, he tries to make everyone around him better, off the field as well. He’s always lifting people up and helping them see their true potential.

He seems to always assume positive intentions and gives people the benefit of the doubt. I think this is because he really does see others’ potential, he sees what they can be. It doesn’t seem to matter to him where someone currently is, Ted only cares about where they can go. Even when his boss tells him that she’s been trying to sabotage him and the team, he forgives her, immediately, no questions asked. He always sees the best in people.

Ted Lasso has a great sense of humor. Chalk it up to the show being a comedy but he’s a hilarious character. He’s always cracking a joke and trying to find the humor in even the worst situations.

Even though he seems like it at first, Ted Lasso is not just some crazy optimist who doesn’t live in reality. He has his struggles too. But, Ted has some amazing qualities that I sincerely hope to develop myself. I think the world could use more people like Ted Lasso.
